Red face

It was in the paper this morning. UPN announced the final show will be in May during sweeps.

Probably one of the weakest of all ST shows but I was starting to get into it these last two seasons.

So is this the end of the franchise?

End of the franchise?....are you kidding me? They're gonna milk "Star Trek" until the time comes that we ACTUALLY HAVE WARP DRIVE!

I suspect that the announcement of another Star Trek inspired series will rear it's head in about a year.

Question

Won't this be the first break in the action? They've had some version of ST running every year since TNG.

y'know, I have yet to see a single episode of this one...
I just really can't get my head around Bakula as a Star FLeet guy...Quantum Leap, and all.
same with that Hercules guy in Andromeda.

The franchise has been losing popularity for years. My guess is we'll continue to see movies from time to time but as far as I know there's nothing in the pipe. It's sad - but even an old trekker like me has steadily lost interest over the years.

I was watching a rerun of TNG on Spike yesterday and when Geordi was techno-babbling about "secondary?integrity?adhesion aligned with the transporter?impulse?facility" I just had to giggle.

I like the other 4 shows, but DS9 was probably my fave.

I love Andromeda! It's hokey but there's something about it. Okay, it's the hot women on that show too. forums

I read that on CNN yesterday -

I do know they are releasing all 4 seasons on DVD this year - so you can have it immortally that way if you want (as I do) - the only one that never got me interested was Voyager for some reason...

Although, this is the first time a Star Trek isn't on the air in PrimeTime in over 18 years, it isn't the end of the franchise if you look at it as Roddenberry - he has his legacy still strong.

His second non-ST show is still kicking - andromeda with Sorbo..... he also had that other one that you could almost relate to the same story as "V" a few years back - the one where they implanted some symbiote into those that were helping the aliens......

just you wait...
since it's been axed, I'll end up catching an episode this week, and loving it. forums
speaking of dvds, when I was toy shopping the other day, I was checking out some box sets of diff shows/flicks.
OUCH!
talk aboot pricey! there was a LotR set, for (I think) $170 forums it was over $150, I know that for sure.
tack on the 14% tax...
it's cheaper to get them one at a time...
